Nintendo and Universal Studios have been working together behind the scenes to plan and build a series of Nintendo theme parks called Super Nintendo World, and some progress is finally being made! Construction officially began a few months ago, and Nintendo is aiming to have the first of three planned theme parks (specifically the one in Japan) open in time for the 2020 Olympics.
Universal Studios Japan gave a small update on the project today, posting several pieces of concept art. The images show the entrance area to Super Nintendo World, wedged in between the Jaws and Waterworld theme parks. They are considering making the entrance a giant green pipe. Based on these images, Japanese Nintendo speculates that Super Nintendo World will be a two-story park with the pipe being an entrance to the upper level.
