Nintendo just issued its second quarter earnings release, providing investors with financial data from the past three months, as well as some projections for the future. As part of this quarterly check-in, Nintendo has compiled a released schedule for all of their upcoming first-party games and prominent third-party titles (some announced games for Wii U, such as Yooka-Laylee, were not included in Nintendo’s report).
Unfortunately for Wii U owners, this is the end of the line.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is still penned in for a 2017 release, and Project Giant Robot is still somehow listed as a TBD release for Wii U, but there are no other planned Wii U releases from Nintendo. There are still a handful of third-party releases planned, but the console’s support is quickly winding down.
The only item of note for 3DS releases is that
Miitopia is still scheduled to launch in 2016. If that name doesn’t ring a bell, it’s a 3DS title that Nintendo teased on September 1st and hasn’t mentioned since.
