Following the success of the Dragon Ball Xenoverse series and Dragon Ball FighterZ, Bandai Namco is gearing up to launch another game in Toriyama’s beloved universe (or, rather, multiverse). Earlier in the month, they teased that they were working on a new Dragon Ball Z action RPG, and they recently released its first trailer.

Additionally, a few new details surfaced in a press release. Unsurprisingly, “Dragon Ball Project Z: Action RPG” is just a code name, not the final title. The game will apparently stick to the well-known Dragon Ball Z storyline. Development is being handled by CyberConnect2, best known for the Naruto Shippuden series.

The game is slated to launch later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, but apparently not Nintendo Switch. Given the massive success of Xenoverse 2 and Dragon Ball FighterZ on Nintendo’s hybrid console, I wouldn’t be surprised if it gets ported eventually. It’s possible development began before Bandai Namco knew what strong sales Switch would have.
