Last year at Gamescom, a mysterious new survival-horror game called P.T. was unveiled, but it was later discovered to be a demo for a new Silent Hill game. Silent Hills was in development for PlayStation 4 with Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and well-known film director Guillermo del Toro teaming up to direct. Unfortunately, Konami recently cancelled the game and removed P.T. from the PlayStation store, but that doesn’t mean that this dream team has to be disbanded. According to Guillermo del Toro, he and Kojima are still planning to work together on a future project.

“I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together, but that’s not going to be [Silent Hills]. We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in Metal Gear [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that.”
— Guillermo del Toro

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we see these two united for a new project. Whether that’s Guillermo del Toro working on a video game with Kojima or Kojima finally getting into movies like he’s wanted to for years, it will be exciting to see.
