Horizon Zero Dawn, the upcoming PlayStation 4 exclusive from Killzone developer Guerrilla Games looks fantastic, but we’ve only been given a small taste of the experience. Set in a beautifully crafted post-apocalyptic world where humans have reverted to a tribal culture and giant robots roam the plains, Horizon Zero Dawn combines action and RPG elements in a vast open world. Asked to describe the balance of these elements, managing director Hermen Hulst said that it falls somewhere between Assassin’s Creed and The Elder Scrolls. Here are his thoughts on the matter:
“I guess you’re wondering where we are on that spectrum of, on the one side more action-orientated games like Assassin’s Creed, and on the other hand you have your Elder Scrolls and these kinds of series. I think we’re in-between. We have elements in both directions, and that probably puts us somewhere in between.”
