Kickstarter project Mighty No. 9 generated an incredible amount of hype (and funding) three years ago, but a long wait made longer by multiple delays (when the base game was said to be complete over a year ago) has left a bad taste in the mouth of fans and backers. Unfortunately, faith in the game waned even further when publisher Deep Silver released a new trailer full of cheesy dialogue, bad jokes, and unconvincing explosions.
It looks like potential customers aren’t the only ones disappointed with the new trailer, as Inti Creates CEO Takuya Aizu has taken to Twitter to criticize it. Inti Creates co-developed the game with Comcept (director Keiji Inafune’s team), but Deep Silver is publishing, and that apparently includes handling the trailers. After watching the trailer, Aizu tweeted out that it was “crappy” and “unforgivable,” specifically calling out Deep Silver. Hopefully this means that the trailer isn’t representative of the spirit of the actual game.
ひどいな。このPVは何なんだよ。 What the hell was D*** *il*** thinking making a crappy PV like this?! Unforgivable.
