We learned about a ton of new games at the Nintendo Switch presentation. However, it appears that Borderlands 3 is a game that won’t make the list. Responding to a fan on Twitter, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford was asked if Borderlands 3 would come to the Switch and he replied, “I do not see that as happening. We were talking to Nintendo, but that stopped for some reason. They have other priorities.”
We know that the Nintendo Switch can run Unreal Engine 4, and Pitchford admitted that they got Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel running on the Nvidia Shield, so there’s theoretically no technical limitations. What exactly happened behind the scenes is unknown, but perhaps we’ll hear more about it closer to the Borderlands 3 rumored 2017 reveal.
