The embargo for Devil’s Third has lifted in Europe, so those who received review copies have started to post hands-on previews and gameplay footage, but the early looks at the game have been extremely critical. Creator Tomonobu Itagaki has already defended the game against some of these criticisms, and recently he took to Facebook to do more critic refuting.
According to Itagaki, the problem is just that
“Devil’s Third is the game which reflects the player’s skill directly/vividly.” In other words, he believes European reviewers dislike the game because they’re lacking in skill. Itagaki also called the gameplay videos “very poor” and says that he plans to release “GENUINE” (emphasis his) footage soon.
