Video games movies are everywhere lately, and nearly-universal harsh reviews don’t seem to be slowing them down! Speaking of going fast, Paramount Pictures has picked Deadpool director Tim Miller to produce a live-action/CGI adaptation of Sonic the Hedgehog. The film has been in the works for years and is planned to release next November. Little has been said about the cast up until this point, but Paramount has just landed at least one star.
According to Variety’s sources, James Marsden will star in the film. Marsden has been acting since the early ’90s, and is best known for his current role as Teddy in
Westworld or his time spent as Scott Summers / Cyclops in the X-Men trilogy. Variety is unclear about Marsden’s exact role. Will he be starring as Sonic himself, or as a major human character that interacts with Sonic?
