Many fans of the Kingdom Hearts series are eagerly awaiting more news about what kind of worlds we’ll see in Kingdom Hearts III. Ever since the announcement of a world based on Big Hero 6, Square Enix has remained quiet about what they’re adding to the game, but that hasn’t stopped them from saying what won’t appear. According to co-director Tai Yasue, the heroes of Kingdom Hearts III will not be visiting worlds based on the Final Fantasy series.

Most fans won’t be surprised by this, seeing as Square Enix has never dedicated an entire world to the franchise. However, past
Kingdom Hearts games have had original worlds that have characters from the Final Fantasy series in them. Yasue went on to explain that the reasoning for this is that the team wants to focus on creating original and Disney worlds that are creative and unique.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see the worlds of
Final Fantasy make their way into the series? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
