It has been quite a tumultuous year for Konami and Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. From Silent Hills‘ cancellation to Kojima’s name being removed from Metal Gear Solid V‘s packaging, many have wondered about the current relationship between Kojima and Konami. During tonight’s Game Awards, Geoff Keighley announced that Konami had forbidden Kojima from attending, using a clause in his employment contract to enforce it. While Kojima was unable to attend, Keighley did say that Kojima was watching The Game Awards from his home in Tokyo.
