Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima has parted ways with publisher Konami, a company that has been shifting its focus away from AAA games and towards its mobile division and pachinko gambling machines. Konami says that they plan to continue making Metal Gear games for consoles, but their next project for the franchise could be a pachinko machine.

KPE, Konami’s pachinko company, has filed a trademark for “Big Boss” that includes video games, board games, smartphone games, medal games, slot machines, and pachinko machines. This doesn’t guarantee that a
Metal Gear pachinko is in the works necessarily, but we’ve already seen similar announcements for Silent Hills and Castlevania.
