Nintendo just briefed investors on their finances through the first two quarters (April 1st – September 30th, 2016) of the fiscal year, and that means we also got an update on software sales. As of September 30th, Mario Kart 8 has now sold 8 million copies worldwide, which is extremely impressive when you consider that Wii U has only sold around 13 million units. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U has also sold well, officially moving 4.99 million units as of September 30th, so we can likely assume it has eclipsed the 5 million mark by now. Meanwhile, the 3DS version has sold over 8.35 million copies.
