While many people expected Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle would be awful, E3 showed us all that things weren’t as bad as they seemed at first. Many critics were won over by the cute style and XCOM-like mechanics of the crossover, so I think the game will actually do fairly well when it launches next Tuesday. Though we’re just under a week out from launch, Ubisoft has decided to reveal a season pass for Kingdom Battle, which includes new content both later this year and into next one.
Launching next week alongside the base game, the season pass will set you back $19.99, though you get both immediate and future benefits (much like Breath of the Wild‘s pass). Upon purchase, the pass immediately unlocks eight new, season pass-exclusive steampunk weapons for the main characters, each one with unique statistics. Later this fall, season pass owners will also be able to access new solo challenges and co-op maps. The biggest piece of content is coming in 2018, however. While we don’t know details yet, this content will center around a “new, unexpected” story experience.
Are you going to pick up Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle next week, and if so, will you be getting the season pass?
