The NPD Group has just released its data for the month of June, cluing us in on how certain games and consoles performed in the US during that timeframe. In addition to having the top-selling hardware (I mean, technically), Nintendo also claimed the top software spot with their latest sporty spin-off game, Mario Tennis Aces.
We don’t know the exact sales figures for Aces, but we know it topped the charts despite launching late in the month and despite the fact that Nintendo doesn’t report their digital sales to NPD. Of course, the competition wasn’t all that tough, since few new AAA games were released in June. However, Nintendo is also reporting that Aces is now their fastest-selling Tennis game of all time, Mario or otherwise.
