Xbox One launched without backwards compatibility, but Microsoft has been steadily providing that feature to fans on a game-by-game basis, and the library of backwards compatible games just got a little bigger. As part of Mass Effect‘s N7 Day celebrations, Xbox Live Director of Programming Larry Hryb (better known as Major Nelson) has just announced that Mass Effect 2 and 3 will become backwards compatible on Xbox One today, and the official website clarifies that this only applies to physical copies. The first game is already backwards compatible, so now you can play all three on Xbox One.
