Earlier this year, Nintendo began releasing classic Super Nintendo games on the 3DS Virtual Console, allowing New Nintendo 3DS owners (but not owners of older models) to experience some retro goodness on the go. Capcom brought the first Mega Man X game to 3DS in August, and its sequel followed last month. Wasting little time, Nintendo has just announced that Capcom is also bringing Mega Man X3 to the 3DS Virtual Console, and soon.
You’ll be able to play this SNES classic (the first to allow you to play as Zero) tomorrow. The price tag is $7.99, and Nintendo has specified that it will not feature stereoscopic 3D. You can check out the game’s official description below.
“After discovering a virus that is turning intelligent and peaceful robots known as Reploids into rogue Mavericks, the scientist Dr. Doppler successfully creates an antivirus to the phenomenon. The reformed Reploids then move into Dopple Town, a place where humans and Reploids can live together in harmony. But when an outbreak occurs causing the Reploids to turn back into Mavericks, Maverick Hunters Mega Man X and Zero are sent to contain the situation.
“Choose either Mega Man X or Zero as you run, jump, dash, scale walls, avoid obstacles, and fight enemies in eight challenging stages. At the end of each stage, defeat the boss to gain a special weapon that will aid you in the upcoming battles. Will you be the cure for this latest outbreak?”
Like the first two
Mega Man X titles, Mega Man X3 is a game I would highly recommend to fans of the Mega Man franchise and action-platformers in general.
