We all have various opinions on Michael Pachter, and likewise we probably all feel a bit different about adblock. Many feel justified, while others feel entitled to 100% free content. We’ve had Jim Sterling cover this topic in the past, and Destructoid had to make massive changes last year and offer a subscription service to try and keep their staff paid and their servers online. I know personally, 62% of our readers use adblock, which I could theoretically say is the primary reason we can’t pay our writers – we make just enough to keep the lights on. It is entirely possible that adblock could cause our doors to shut some day.

Beyond all of this, we all understand many ads are intrusive and annoying – and those sorts of ads have only increased since adblock came around, as people keep trying to find new ways to work around adblock, or make money from the few who still view the ads. Still, Michael Pachter has a few choice words, and summarizes some of my feelings on this topic rather well. In fact, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pachter this heated before.

I am the current Editor-in-Chief of Zelda Informer and have been running the show here since July 16th, 2008. I've actually been running Zelda Fan sites since 1998, so I've been in this "industry" for roughly 16 years. I'm 28 years old and have two kids, one biological, the other more of a step daughter (not legally yet, but practically). I live with my girlfriend and our two kids (Aiden, age 1 and half, Melody age 3 and half). I'm attending college to create video games web applications, and I naturally love Nintendo (I run a Zeld a website after all!). For those curious, I currently own a Wii U, Xbox One, 3DS, PlayStation 3, and a gaming PC (and a gaming capable laptop too!). I do plan to eventually get a PlayStation 4, likely when more comes out I am interested in playing on the system. I do play the Wii U more than any other system I own.
