Microsoft and Platinum Games have remained relatively silent about the Xbox One exclusive Scalebound until last week. Ken Lobb of Microsoft Studios shared some incredibly confident thoughts on the upcoming title during an Inner Circle Podcast interview. Lobb even went far enough to say he believes the game could possibly have the potential to be “Game of All Time.”
Lobb gave little information about what Scalebound will exactly be, but he did drop a few hints, though they may be too vague to be considered hints, as he started: “When people really understand what we’re building, they’re gonna be shocked.” Lobb went on to discuss what concepts the game is being based on, “what does Platinum do well? That’s what they’re building. And what [does Microsoft Studios] do well? That’s what we’re adding. And yes, there are dragon companions.” It’s vague as to what the game is actually about and how it plays. He remained vague when asked about how the title pertains to the game, “Scale: [Platinum Games builds] crazy, gigantic things.”
Hideki Kamiya is credited as the director behind the game, and he has an impressive lineup under his belt, including Bayonetta and Devil May Cry. He and his team could deliver something of such magnitude as Lobb is describing, but we still don’t know what they are delivering.
Supposedly, we will get to see Scalebound in action later this year, perhaps at E3. What do you think about the team-up between Microsoft and Platinum Games? Should Microsoft be so confident given the reception on the first wave of Xbox One exclusives? Let us know in the comments below!
