Rare was once one of the most popular developers in the world, with big hits like Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, Conker’s Bad Fur Day, and many others. They’ve been a little quieter in recent years since their acquisition by Microsoft, and most of their focus has been on Kinect.

However, it sounds like the UK-based studio is getting back in gear now. Microsoft has teased a “uniquely Rare” game in the works, a “huge year” with possible hints to the return of Banjo-Kazooie, and more. Speaking as a guest on a recent podcast, Xbox marketing head Aaron Greenberg revealed that Rare now has multiple games in the works, and Microsoft is preparing to unveil them.

“It’s going through the process of preparing to unveil their next things, they have multiple projects in development and we feel really good about them.” — Aaron Greenberg

With E3 just a few months away, it’s looking likely that we’ll see at least one announcement from Rare. Would you like to see a classic franchise return, or would you like something completely new from Rare? Leave your thoughts in the comments!
