Link’s green tunic has been strangely absent from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. While this is probably due to the new gameplay mechanics of being able to change your clothes in the game, Aonuma gave a mysterious answer when asked about the classic attire, saying nothing more than, “I don’t know… I wonder.” Now Miyamoto has also given his thoughts on the matter, saying that if a green tunic was available, players might want to wear it all the time.

“I don’t know, but there are just a lot of clothes in this game. So maybe if we had green clothes people would want to wear it all the time. And yeah, with the variety of clothes you get, that this game offers, you can really customize your character. And I can’t really divulge too much more than this.”
— Shigeru Miyamoto

While it’s a more straightforward answer than Aonuma gave, it still isn’t a solid “yes” or “no” to the question of whether or not we will see Link’s classic getup return in
Breath of the Wild. What do you guys think? Would you be okay with not seeing the green tunic in this title? Leave your thoughts in the comments below!

Our Verdict

Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
