With the upcoming Super Mario Maker, players can design their own Mario levels and play them on Wii U, with a multitude of different graphical options for each stage. In a recent interview with the Wall Street Journal, Shigeru Miyamoto spoke out about the cause behind building Super Mario Maker. According to Miyamoto:
“I still just love making games, it’s my favorite thing. [I want] to let other people enjoy the experience of making games themselves.” — Shigeru Miyamoto
Mario hacks were always a viable option on PC, there was never an official way to create your own levels until Super Mario Maker. This new tool allows Miyamoto to truly extend that game-designing power to consumers.
