Minecraft has been out for years, and its sales are still going strong. Despite its widespread availability and popularity, the popular sandbox game is not available on 3DS and Wii U. There’s strong fan interest in the game on Nintendo platforms, but no plans have been announced to meet that demand. Interestingly enough, Vu Bui (COO of publisher Mojang) would love to see the game come to Nintendo’s home console and handheld. However, now that Microsoft owns Mojang, that decision isn’t entirely up to him. Here’s what he had to say:
“If I had my way, we’d be on everything. We want to continue to be available to all players, and that means being on new platforms because everyone uses something different. I’ve never heard a reason why we haven’t ended up on Wii U or 3DS. It just hasn’t happened yet.”

Even though Microsoft owns
Minecraft, they continue to give it support on PlayStation platforms, so a Nintendo release isn’t necessarily out of the question. Would you like to own the game on 3DS or Wii U?
