Capcom recently announced the release date for their upcoming Monster Hunter spin-off, Monster Hunter Stories. While no information is available on a Western release, Monster Hunter Stories will launch in Japan on October 8th. Alongside this launch, Monster Hunter Stories will get three brand-new Amiibo. Two of these figures (one for each gender) feature the protagonist riding the One-Eyed Rathalos, while the third is of the player’s companion, Nabiru. Using these Amiibo in-game will unlock unique monsters. If those three Amiibo weren’t enough, Capcom is working on plans to release a second set this winter.
Capcom also revealed some information on in-game costumes for Monster Hunter Stories. One of the costumes, a Rathalos outfit for Nabiru, will be included with limited quantities of the game. Having Monster Hunter Generations save data on your system will unlock a one-handed sword for the protagonist and a Dinovaldo costume for Nabiru. Nabiru is getting one more costume based on Pompompurin, a popular Sanrio character, while the protagonist is getting a costume and weapon based on musician DAIGO.
