Capcom is rolling in the dough thanks to Monster Hunter: World. The latest entry in the popular franchise launched in January, and it quickly became Capcom’s highest-selling game of all time. Although it’s no longer selling by the millions, Monster Hunter: World has piled up another 400,000 sales since March, and it’s nearing another major milestone.
According to Capcom’s latest updated sales figures, Capcom has shipped over 7.9 million copies of Monster Hunter: World around the globe since launch. Capcom’s most successful game of all time has also led to their most successful year.
Their latest financial report shows record figures for operating income (approximately $147 million), ordinary income (approximately $140 million), and net income (approximately $100 million). This marks the fifth straight year of growth for Capcom’s operating income, and it was the best year overall that the company has ever had.
