Mutant Mudds, one of the Nintendo eShop’s most renowned indie titles, proved a huge success to Renegade Kid back in 2012. Over the past few years, rumors spread of a sequel. Many devoted fans waited for word of the next title in the indie franchise, only to have their wishes granted with the reveal of Mutant Mudds Super Challenge, coming to both the Wii U and 3DS eShop later this year.
Now, even more details have surfaced regarding this new installment in the latest issue of Nintendo Force. Renegade Kid’s co-founder Jools Watsham sat down to give us the gist of what to expect in
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge.
First of all,
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge is an entirely new game meant to start off at the conclusion of the first game. It contains 40 new levels spread out over five worlds, and there is no difficulty curve; players are automatically submersed in extremely tough stages.
Mutant Mudds Super Challenge will also integrate new hidden pathways located behind the game’s 2D walls, “indicated with a small porthole somewhere to reveal that pick-ups are hidden inside.”
Lastly, Renegade Kid is planning on incorporating a new art style to the game’s level themes and is currently working with composer Troupe Gammage for new chiptune music.
