Fans have been begging for a mainline Pokémon game on a Nintendo home console for quite some time now, but historically, Game Freak has always refused, as Pokémon is so inherently an on-the-go experience. When the Nintendo Switch was first revealed to be a portable home system, many fans got excited, as they felt that it would finally be possible for a core Pokémon game to be released on a home console.
Now, during Nintendo’s E3 broadcast, it’s been officially confirmed that Game Freak is working on a main series Pokémon RPG for the Nintendo Switch. So far, we know almost nothing about the game, other than that it’ll be on Nintendo Switch and that it may not be released for over a year. Still, this is definitely a major announcement that is sure to get fans excited!
