Yesterday, we reported on a rumor that the port strike affecting the west coast of the United States was affecting the quantity of Nintendo products being brought into the country. Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata has officially confirmed that shipments of Amiibo and hardware, such as the recently released New Nintendo 3DS, have been strongly impacted by the strike. However, Iwata also stated that software has not been affected, stating, “Games are light and can be flown to America.”

A lot of people have been criticizing Nintendo lately for the shortages of even the most standard products. However, with this news, it appears as though the situation isn’t entirely Nintendo’s fault. Hopefully, the strike will be resolved soon so things can return to their normal state.
