During last week’s Nintendo Switch Treehouse stream, we learned a lot more details about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. One of the main focuses of the demo was the wild horses that you come across in the game. When you encounter these horses, you can tame then and keep them at stables across the world. It’ll cost you a few rupees to register your horse at a stable, but once you do, you can find a lost horse from any stable.

When you see a horse, they are not initially familiar with you, so you must soothe them to tame them. Different horses have different stats, and the stronger horses will be more challenging to tame. Once you’ve tamed your horse, they can follow roads without you guiding them and you can whistle to call them. Like in previous titles, you can charge at enemies whilst on your horse to damage them. If you give food to your horse, or even dogs, they will follow you around.

Some other details revealed in the stream include that in the overworld you can help travelers fight enemies, and if you wear metallic outfits, you will be struck by lightning during a storm.

What do you think about the wild horses in Breath of the Wild? Let us know in the comments!
