Back in April, Nintendo filed a patent for a controller that could also be used as a projector. Adding to that, the company more recently created another patent for a projector that can adjust an image based on the viewer’s perspective of it. Similar to the New Nintendo 3DS system, the display can correct itself based on the angle that the user is looking at it. The device would also account for three-dimensional objects that the image might be projected on. You can view images of the patent in the gallery below!

Nintendo has been known for filing various patents in the past that we have yet to see realized as full products, but that doesn’t mean that bits and pieces of certain ideas can’t make their way into future hardware. What do you guys think of the technology? Would you like to see Nintendo implement it into a future system in some way? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Our Verdict

Adam Sherrill
Writing is half of my life. Video games make up the other half. I decided to put these two hobbies together and join Gamnesia back in 2015. I spend most of my time working at a retail store and paying off my student debt. When I'm not getting stressed about the thousands of dollars I owe my loan providers, I play tons of video games (which just puts me into more debt). I'm also currently writing a novel in what little spare time I have. It's a story I've been wanting to write for a while, but I don't want to talk about it until I have most of it completed. Any Gamnesia-related inquiries may be sent to [email protected] Feel free to follow my personal Twitter if you want (@Pindlo). I mostly just retweet things.
