Nintendo recently released its annual earnings report, highlighting sales and financial data for the 2015 fiscal year that ended on March 31st. Afterwards, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima revealed even more data in a presentation to investors. That presentation included some positive numbers for Nintendo in the realm of digital revenue.
During Nintendo’s third quarter report, they announced
$258 million in digital revenue for the year, noting that they generated nearly as much revenue through three quarters this year as the entire previous year. That positive trend continued last quarter (January 1st – March 31st, 2016) as Nintendo racked up ¥12.8 billion (over $120 million) in digital sales. For the full fiscal year, Nintendo reported digital revenue of ¥43.9 billion, or around $412 million. The Americas were once again the most profitable region for digital sales, followed by Japan.
