Pokémon GO is the upcoming augmented reality Pokémon game coming out sometime this year, and the trademark for its name was just registered with the OHUIM, an international trademark registry in Europe. Naturally, it’s surprising to see the trademark submitted so late, considering that the name and logo have been used since Nintendo announced it last September.

Occasionally, a trademark submission will signal a big announcement; however, Niantic, the developer,
has cancelled their GDC presentation. But hey, you know what they say: shiny Pokémon (and Pokémon GO betas) come to those who wait!
