At last year’s E3,
Nintendo announced a brand new Metroid title called Metroid Prime: Federation Force. According to the developers behind Federation Force, they want to use this new game to tell the story of the battle between the Galactic Federation and the Space Pirates. Next Level Games says that they have always wanted to explore this aspect of the Metroid universe, and have been hoping to do a project like this for over ten years. While Samus will appear in the story, she will not be playable in the game. According to Next Level Games, the use of soldiers from the Galactic Federation was a natural choice for this game.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force, soldiers will receive certain types of sub-weapons from the Federation in each mission and be designated a special class. If you carry a lot of repair capsules, your soldier essentially becomes a healer, and if you receive a ton of missiles, your soldier becomes a warrior. Nintendo will be hosting several hands-on opportunities to play Federation Force, starting with Wondercon on March 25th.
Metroid Prime: Federation Force is scheduled to be released in late spring 2016.
