2013 has truly been the year of the 3DS. With an ongoing onslaught of new titles, ranging from Animal Crossing to Fire Emblem to Zelda, Nintendo offered something for everybody this year. Before a title could be completed, they were waving a new one in front of our faces.

A fantastic year of software is often correlated with a fantastic year for hardware. Now, at the conclusion of 2013, Nintendo has passed the two-million milestone in the UK. The Big N has sold over two million 3DS hardware units in the region. This number includes the sales of the 3DS, 3DS XL, and the 2DS.

Although the sales are behind the numbers the DS managed at this point in its lifetime, they are still impressive. Nintendo has to worry about tablets and smartphones now, but the company’s handheld sales remain strong.

Here’s to 2014!

Jackson Murphy is eighteen years old. He is a dumb college student that you would probably hate.
