Animal Crossing Plaza is a free downloadable spin-off title that heavily emphasizes communication between those who play Animal Crossing, primarily New Leaf. The gameplay of the service is very community-based, much like the Miiverse community. The game was released for the Nintendo Wii U back in the beginning of August and will actually be coming to an end as a service towards the end of December.

However, at the end of Aya Kyogoku’s Miiverse post detailing Plaza‘s end, it is hinted that Animal Crossing-related news will arise sometime in 2015!

“We’re also going to continue posting news related to the series here in the Animal Crossing News Community, so stay tuned for more information about Animal Crossing next year!” — Aya Kyogoku

Animal Crossing: New Leaf received wonderful reception and continues to entertain individuals to this very day. It can only be expected that information about the series’ future will come soon, but it’s especially nice when it’s hinted at by a Nintendo representative.
