With September in the rear view mirror, we are now halfway through the fiscal year of April 1st, 2015 – March 31st, 2016. While Sony is dominating the global market with the immensely popular PlayStation 4, Nintendo is still on top in its home company of Japan. Market share data for the first sixth months of the fiscal year is in, and Nintendo games make up 32.1% of software sales on dedicated gaming devices. The next closest publisher is Level-5, trailing behind substantially with 11.9%, followed by Square Enix at 11%. You can check out the top ten below.

Nintendo’s 32.1% market share is up from 24.7% at the same time last year, while Level-5’s market share has dropped from 20.8% to 11.9%. Notable absentees from this list are SEGA and Koei Tecmo.
