In a recent interview with CNET, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime discussed Nintendo’s strategy to attempt to keep up with Amiibo demand.
According to Reggie, Nintendo is working very hard to try to meet the demand for Amiibo. In an effort to achieve this, they are starting to take their Amiibo volume estimates and double or triple them to try to better meet demand. Here’s Reggie’s full quotation:
“We’re at a point where we have to take our volume estimates and double them or triple them based on the levels of demand we’re seeing. We’re working very hard to meet that demand. For us it’s making sure we continue to innovate on the gameplay. I know our content is strong. I know what we’re executing is unique and compelling.”
