Nintendo will be partnering with Apex 2015 in order to sponsor “an incredible Smash Bros. event,” according to a tweet from Team Apex on Friday. Nintendo subsequently confirmed its involvement by retweeting Team Apex’s announcement.

Apex 2015 will begin on January 30th and run through February 1st in Secaucus, New Jersey. All four console Smash Bros. titles will be present at the event, alongside the likes of other great games like Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and Killer Instinct.

Despite Sakurai’s hopes of having Smash Bros. stray away from the being labeled “competitive” in nature, there’s no denying that the series still greatly appeals to the fan base’s more competitive patrons — something Nintendo must have taken into account while deciding to partner with Apex this year.

Joel Palermo
Hi everyone, my name is Joel and I'm a huge fan of all different genres of videos games. Specifically, I love horror video games, so expect to see a few articles from time to time about the more grotesque and stomach-churning side of the gaming industry. I also love making music and working on YouTube videos from time to time for my channel. My content is definitely random, but if you find something to your liking, don't be afraid to mention it to me on Twitter or my channel.
