One of the fun new features in Mario Kart 8 is Mario Kart TV. Using this feature, players can record their favorite races, edit the footage to highlight on the parts they enjoyed the most, and upload them to the Mario Kart TV website for others to watch. Unfortunately, Nintendo has just announced that they are shutting down the website in just a few week on April 4th at 11:00 PM Pacific Time. The good news is that you’ll still be able to record videos in the game and upload them online, as Mario Kart 8‘s video sharing is also compatible with YouTube, and Nintendo will not be discontinuing that feature. Nintendo issued the following statement:

“The Mario Kart TV website, which lets you watch highlight videos posted from Mario Kart 8, will be closing down as of 11:00 PM PT on Monday, April 4th 2016. We are very thankful to the many people who have used this website since it launched in 2014.

“Even after the website shuts down, it will still be possible to watch Mario Kart TV and upload highlights from within Mario Kart 8 itself. Highlight videos uploaded to YouTube from the game will not be deleted after the website shuts down.”
