One of my favorite reports floating around about the Switch was that the Virtual Console will be able to support GameCube titles. This rumor grew significantly last December when Eurogamer reported that not only was Nintendo planning on bringing GameCube games to the Virtual Console, but they already had three of them up and running! Nintendo has thus far remained silent on the issue, but they did provide a big hint in a recent interview with French website Melty.

When asked about the possibility of bringing GameCube games to the Switch Virtual Console, Switch producer Yoshiaki Koizumi simply stated that they had nothing to announce at the time. He then continued to say, however, that they were
“working on some things along those lines.” This is far from an official confirmation, of course, but it’s definitely nice to know that the possibility is real. I, for one, would love to be able to play some of the GameCube greats that I never got a chance to own or to go back and relive some of my favorites.

What do you think about the idea of GameCube Virtual Console games? What games would you like to see appear through such a service?
