Nintendo is almost ready to launch its new online service. Up until now, it’s been free to play Nintendo games online, but that will be changing soon. Nintendo Switch Online is a paid membership service that costs around $20 a year and includes access to cloud saves (on select titles) and a digital library of classic NES games.
Nintendo Switch Online was previously scheduled to launch sometime in “the second half of September,” but now we have a concrete release date. Nintendo announced today that the service will go live on September 18th, and a 7-day free trial will be available on eShop at launch. You can expect to learn more details about Nintendo Switch Online tomorrow evening when the latest Nintendo Direct airs.
#NintendoSwitchOnline memberships will start on 9/18. You can sign-up for a 7-day free trial from Nintendo #eShop at launch! We will introduce more information during the Nintendo Direct on 9/13.https://t.co/74Hzxk9spt pic.twitter.com/EJVFJH6F4I
