Most of the Nintendo excitement has been focused on Pokémon Sun and Moon on 3DS and the upcoming launch of Nintendo Switch lately, but today’s the perfect day to show Wii U some love. Nintendo’s first ever HD console launched in North America on November 18th, 2012, making today the system’s fourth anniversary.

Wii U hasn’t been the commercial success Nintendo hoped for, but it was a bold and interesting move by Nintendo, and it’s home to some top-notch games like
Super Smash Bros., Splatoon, Super Mario 3D World, and more. Happy anniversary, Wii U, and here’s hoping that Nintendo Switch can reach a larger audience with even more great games.
