Nintendo recently unveiled plans to team up with Japanese publisher DeNA and release video games on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets. CEO Satoru Iwata has repeatedly stressed that Nintendo’s main focus is still dedicated gaming platforms, and E3 will reflect that. Iwata told investors today that the company has no plans to discuss the smartphone business at E3, because that event is reserved for dedicated gaming systems. Nintendo’s first mobile game will launch later this year, but we’ll have to wait a little while longer for details.
