With E3 2017 just over a month away, there’s still a lot of mystery as to what will be on display. What surprise announcements will we see? Nintendo has taken steps to drum up some excitement by revealing what their plans are for the trade show. Though they won’t have a traditional conference, as per usual, Nintendo has quite the lineup of livestreams and tournaments for their fans to enjoy.

The event kicks off on June 13th at 9:00 AM Pacific with their Nintendo Spotlight: E3 2017 video presentation. This video will discuss upcoming Switch games, such as Super Mario Odyssey, with a focus on those games coming out this year. Immediately following this presentation (and running through June 15th), Nintendo will be livestreaming Nintendo Treehouse: Live at E3, showcasing gameplay and commentary from these games and many more.

Lastly on the livestreaming front, Nintendo is holding not one, but two tournaments straight from the show floor. The first is the 2017 Splatoon 2 World Inkling Invitational, set to take place on June 13th. This tournament features four pre-qualified squads from the United States, Japan, Europe, and Australia/New Zealand facing off in the first ever international Splatoon 2 competition. The second tournament, taking place June 14th, is the 2017 ARMS Open Invitational, which will focus on wacky boxing game ARMS (set to release on June 16th).

For those lucky enough to be attending E3 this year, Nintendo is making Super Mario Odyssey available to demo, making it the first time the game will be playable before it launches this holiday season. From intense tournaments and cool demos to what I can only hope will be some awesome announcements, it sounds like Nintendo’s E3 is sure to be another hit!
