This November, everyone’s favorite mini-game filled, crazy board game adventure, Mario Party, is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. Announced back in April, Mario Party: Island Tour will mark the series’ first appearance on the 3DS and one big question has surrounded the game since its announcement: will it feature online multiplayer? The answer is a definite no, straight from a Nintendo representative who spoke to Nintendo World Report at a recent demo event.
This may come as a shock to players who were hoping against hope for online multiplayer for the game, but it is not all bad; the game will be fully playable off of one game card using Download Play. While it is not online multiplayer, it is still something, and should still allow for some crazy multiplayer fun by utilizing all 80 of the games mini-games across its 7 game maps.
The Mario Party series will celebrate its 15th birthday this December (in Japan; next February for North America and March for everyone else), and Island Tour will be available to aid in the celebration, with the game releasing on November 22nd in North America, winter 2013 in Japan, and early 2014 for the rest of the world.
