As one of the most anticipated video games set to release in 2018, Kingdom Hearts III would be a joy to see on all modern consoles. Recently, the game’s director Tetsuya Nomura commented that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One title could come to other to the Nintendo Switch after initial release, but it seems some people took those comments a bit too far. After some sites apparently misreported his words, Nomura clarified his comments, saying that Kingdom Hearts III was not confirmed for the Switch and that it could potentially come to even more systems after the initial launch.
Apparently, some websites in Japan mistranslated the reports of his comments as there being a high probability or even near certainty of a Nintendo Switch release. Alas, Nomura confirmed to Famitsu, that is not the case—a Switch port is only a possibility, and one that will only be considered once the game has launched for the already announced systems of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
However, Nomura also clarified that the Nintendo Switch may not be alone in getting those considerations, as he made to sure to note that he never singled out a Nintendo Switch port of the game in particular. The next Kingdom Hearts title could, in fact, come to other hardware systems as well. But, again, the decision to port to those platforms has not been made as of yet, so don’t get your hopes up too much for now.
With all that being said, would you still be interested in seeing Kingdom Hearts III on the Switch? And how keen do you think Nomura is on seeing the game on consoles other than PlayStation 4 and Xbox One? Let us know in the comments below!
