Nintendo has been keeping tabs on their audience to see who is playing Wii U, and an interesting statistic has been revealed. According to data collected by Nintendo senior marketing manager of licensing Damon Baker, of all the people who have accessed the Wii U eShop, only 7% are female. Nintendo recently announced that their development teams are making a theme out of strong female protagonists, citing games like Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors, and Splatoon. Will this help them expand their audience and attract more female gamers?
