Blizzard is bringing some elements from Overwatch to Heroes of the Storm in a future update! The cyborg ninja known as Genji will be available as a new hero, while an altered version of the Hanamura control point map (which is also Genji’s ancestral home in the Overwatch lore) will become a new map.

The HOTS version of Genji utilizes modified forms of his Swift Strike, Deflect, and Dragonblade abilities, as well as a new ability called X-Strike which deals damage in a cross pattern across a large area. The Hanamura map is to be the game’s first payload-based map, with teams pushing payloads across the map to damage the enemy core. It borrows multiple assets and inspirations from the existing Overwatch map. Genji is the fourth Overwatch hero to be added to HOTS after Lucio, Tracer, and Zarya.

Both the hero and map are currently in beta right now, with no official release date as of yet. Are you going to try out Genji in HOTS when he goes live? Let us know below!
