Four years ago, Atlus enlisted the help of the Etrian Odyssey team to develop a new Persona game for the Nintendo 3DS. The result was a dungeon crawling fan service game that mashed the two worlds of Persona 3 and 4 together. The game was received rather well, and after the success of Persona 5, it seemed like a good idea for the company to pursue a sequel.
Enter Persona Q2, a game that is slated to come to the Nintendo 3DS in the future. At least, that’s what we thought until earlier today. The official listing for Q2 doesn’t mention the Nintendo 3DS at all, claiming its chosen platform is TBD (to be determined).
It’s hard to say which system the game will land on. If Atlus sticks with Nintendo, it might come to the Switch. But since Persona 5 was so successful, they might be gearing up for a PS4 release instead. There’s also a possibility that this is all a mistake and the game is still coming to the 3DS. The official teaser site for Q2 still shows the handheld console’s logo, suggesting it hasn’t changed platforms. Misunderstandings like this have been known to happen before. For example, the Xbox One logo has been removed from the Kingdom Hearts III website more than once.
What do you guys think? Will Q2 come to the Nintendo 3DS, or do you think it’s better off releasing on a different system? Let us know what you think in the comments below!
