What’s the best way to raise awareness about the dangers and hazards of every day life on the road? If you’re the local police of the Kamata district of Tokyo, Japan, the answer is to use a giant Pikachu mascot! The local Kamata police recently held a special event to raise awareness about traffic safety, and Pikachu teamed up with Pipo-kun, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department mascot, to help lead the event.

While attending the festivities and learning about traffic safety, guests were treated to musical performances from the Metropolitan Police Music Corps and Rika Matsumoto, a popular actress and singer. Souvenirs featuring Pokémon reminding drivers not to use their phones on the road were also distributed. You can check out some photos from the event in the gallery below!
